As part of the ageing process, our skin loses its elasticity and volume, contributing to the formation of wrinkles. Our injectable dermal fillers restore the shape and fullness of your skin, reducing the appearance of fine or deep lines, and resulting in a rejuvenated and youthful appearance.

Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid, which is the same substance that naturally occurs in our skin to give it hydration and volume. Fillers essentially replace what’s been lost as you age and can also be used to enhance your natural features.

We use soft, flexible fillers, designed to offer a natural look that enhances your individual beauty. All products are medically certified and clinically proven and include Revolax, Juvederm, Belotero, and Restylane.

Our dermal fillers can be used in the following areas:

Nasolabial lines (the lines from the corner of your mouth to the edge of your nose that deepen with age)
Marionette lines (the lines between the corner of your mouth and your jaw that deepen with age)
Mentolabial fold (the horizontal crease in your chin)

Dermal fillers are a fully reversible procedure. If you aren’t 100% happy with the results, Dr Tom will dissolve unwanted filler at The Aesthetic Room.

Process

Assessment

Bryony will undertake a thorough consultation before your treatment. You’ll discuss your motivations and medical history and can ask any questions you have. We also allow a cooling-off period to consider all the information and make an educated decision about whether to go ahead. You’ll then sign a pre-treatment consent form and Bryony will examine the area to determine the appropriate injection sites and dosages for optimum results.

Treatment

Prior to the treatment, numbing cream is applied to reduce sensation and avoid any discomfort.

Treatments usually last between 20 to 40 minutes and take place lying on a couch. The areas to be treated are cleaned and disinfected before Bryony examines the muscles, plans the treatment, marks out the treatment areas and injects the required dose into the targeted muscles.

Following treatment, the area is gently massaged with a soothing cream. Once you and Bryony are satisfied with the results and you’ve been given sufficient recovery time, you’ll receive written aftercare information.

Results

Results are seen immediately after treatment; however, your skin and muscles can take up to four weeks to heal. Further improvements are seen over the healing process as the filler integrates and hydrates the area. Results can be expected to last 6-12 months depending on the treatment performed.

Recovery

Most people can resume normal daily activities after treatment, although you should expect bruising, swelling and lumps. Full printed information on aftercare is given at all treatments and Bryony is always available to answer any questions during the healing process.

Is it Safe?

Dermal filler treatments are safe when administered by a qualified and experienced practitioner such as Bryony, who uses reputable products. The substances used at the Aesthetic Room are perfectly safe to use within the skin as they closely resemble the naturally produced hyaluronic acid. Because our bodies already produce this, they can break it down naturally and are incredibly unlikely to reject it.

How Long Does It Last?

Results are immediate, and dermal fillers last between six and twelve months, depending on the filler used, the area being treated, and your physiological makeup.

Whilst most of our clients are thrilled with the results of their dermal fillers, hyaluronic acid fillers are reversible. Bryony is fully qualified to inject an enzyme that dissolves your filler to return the area to its original appearance.

What Should I Do Before and After a Treatment?

There are several ways to reduce the amount of bruising and swelling from your fillers and to increase the longevity of the results.

For 7 Days before treatment:avoid blood thinning and anti-inflammatory medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen unless medically necessary.
avoid supplements such as garlic, ginseng, vitamin E, primrose oil and St John’s Wort.

For 2 days before treatment:
- avoid retinol and anti-ageing skin products.
- avoid hair removal creams, bleaching, tweezing and waxing.
- taking Arnica can help prevent bruising.
For 24 hours before treatment:
- avoid alcohol.
- drink plenty of water.
For 4-6 hours after treatment:
- avoid touching the areas with your hands.
- avoid lying flat.
For 24 hours after treatment:
- avoid touching or rubbing the treated area for 24 hours.
- avoid strenuous exercise.
- avoid alcohol.
- avoid saunas, spas, hot showers, swimming pools and steam rooms.
- unless medically necessary, avoid blood thinning and anti-inflammatory medications such as aspirin and ibuprofen.
  drink plenty of water.
- taking Arnica can help prevent bruising.
- try to sleep on your back.
48 hours after treatment:
- avoid alcohol.
